1- After more than 10 years, do these phones always work correctly?
However surprising it may appear, phones produced in the 90s offer higher reliability than the current smart phones. Endowed with simple architecture and with basic features, these mobile phones can perfectly withstand daily and extensive use. After more than 10 years of vouchers and loyal services, lëkki restores a second life to these phones by revamping both inside and outside!
2- May I use lëkki phone’s with my current operator?
Lëkki certifies the functioning of its mobile phones with all the European operators using 900 Mhz and 1800Mhz networks.
EXCEPTION: the Motorola StarTAC 130 works only with the 900Mhz network and is thus incompatible with operators using exclusively 1800Mhz or 2100Mhz network.
UPDATE OCTOBER 2011: For an extra cost of 20€, we are now able to exchange the StarTAC single band mainboard, by a dual band mainboard compatible with 900Mhz AND 1800Mhz network. If you need such service please contact us on hello@lekki.fr
Yes, you can send and receive normally the classics 7bits SMS. However, in rare occasions, certain SMS sent from smart phones containing special characters (ë - ê - ç) cannot be read on your phone because they are encoded in another format. You will thus receive a SMS with the mobile phone number of the sender informing you that the format is incompatible. Trick: Your friends can change SMS format in the parameter setting of their telephone in passing "UCS2" in "7 bits". Their SMS will become universal!
4- What is the life expectancy of the battery?
Given the advanced age of the devices, the manufacturers no longer produce new original batteries. Our mobile phones come with a new universal battery Li-ion and not with an original battery. To ensure their reliability, these batteries have undergone a series of laboratory tests. Their autonomy depends on the model and on their use. To prolong their life expectancy, we recommend the following: - Allowing the battery to become completely empty is fatal for its life expectancy. It is recommended to never drop below 5 % of load. - Protect the battery against temperatures above 25°C/77°F. - In case of non-use of the battery, it is recommended to charge it 40 % before storing it.
